Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) today felicitated Odisha windsurfers Manaswini Maharana and A Mahesh Rao for their impressive achievements in the National Windsurfing Championship, held at Goa earlier this year. Maharana had won 12 gold medals in as many races in women`s category and Rao had bagged six gold, two silver and two bronze medals in the men`s category.
MCL CMD, A N Sahay handed over two cheques, amounting to a total of Rs 7,40,000 (Rs 3,70,000 each) as financial assistance to meet the expenditure towards procurement of two techno/mistral board along with sail and two sets of costumes to the duo for practice and participation in various national and international championships.
MCL Directors A K Tiwari, P C Panigrahi, Deputy General Manager Dr A K Samantaray and Sabir Bux, coach and founder of Kalinga Diver Foundation Trust were present on the occasion.
